Hey Steve-O! I find I like Last.fm quite well. I don't use it as much as I would like, as I've been away from my computer a lot this winter. It has add ins for iTunes, Winamp, Windows Media and Foobar and it can "Scrobble" or keep track of what you listen to on your own computer, then it makes recommendations of similar artists and user "radio stations", plus has the social networking aspect. It is not resource intensive and the "Scrobbler" works flawlessly once you install it on your computer and then install the plug ins for your media player(s) of choice.

When I use it, I am always very happy with it. I just haven't had time to make more "friends"...as it's a great way to discover new music, especially since there are so many international people on the site since the site originates overseas, and it exposes you to music all over the world, not just the American charts.
